I'll Be Up Up and Away

Friday Free Write.

This weekend I had one of the best nights of my life. I got to go to a huge concert at Red Rocks with some of my favorite artists preforming. I had known about the concert for a while, and I wanted to go more than anything. I really should have gotten tickets earlier, but I didn’t. As weird as it sounds, it actually turned out perfectly to wait till the tickets were sold out.

My boyfriend and I like the same music, which is a cool thing to share, especially because going to concerts together is a really cool experience. We both were determined to go to this concert. His uncle works at Red Rocks and did us a huge favor. The concert soon became sold out. Because of his position at the amphitheater, he actually got us free tickets. I was so grateful and so excited. I had no idea what else was in store for me.

When we got to Red Rocks the afternoon of the concert, his uncle drove us up to the entrance. We got to skip all the lines, which were huge, curving down and all around the giant rocks. I had only ever seen pictures of the amphitheater, and they didn’t do the place justice. It was so beautiful with the evening sun cast up on the giant orange rocks all around. They let us into the amphitheater before everyone else (we really got the treatment). We went and sat down front row. I never expected to sit front row, it got me that much more pumped for the show. Soon enough, the first artist came out.

The show was absolutely incredible. Every artist was incredible. The sounds were incredible. It was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I am so lucky to have been there. It is something I will never forget.
